If you’re wanting to learn how to remove the door on your Jeep, you’ll be glad to know that it can be done in a few simple steps, and many people with Jeep Gladiators like to do this for a little more freedom and flexibility. Removing Jeep doors is something that you simply can’t do with most of the vehicles out there, so when you have that option, it’s best to take full advantage of it.
How To Remove A Jeep Door
The Jeep Gladiator looks like a formidable vehicle when you have the roof and the doors removed from it. The entire process can be done in a couple of steps and people of all different skill levels can do it.
The very first part of removing a Jeep door is taking off the plastic cover that keeps the wiring assembly protected. After you’re done taking it off, you’ll want to disconnect the wire connection.
After that, you’ll take off the strap that keeps the Jeep door from swinging too far. The strap is located on a hook that’s near the wire connection that you just took off. You’ll have to be careful doing all of this because the door can tend to swing and over-extend if you don’t keep an eye on it.
Once that’s finished, you’ll have to take off the hinges that are securing the door. There is a bolt that you’ll need to unscrew in order to remove the hinges.
Upon finishing that, you’ll have to do the same thing to the hinges on the outside of the door. You’ll now be able to lift up the door and take it right off. The door is fairly heavy, so it’s best to have someone help you carry it away.
Driving a vehicle with no doors is an experience that not many people get to try out in their lifetimes, and if you get the opportunity to do so, take advantage of it.
